Second Trimester Bliss
25 weeks pregnant with twins! Everything about the second trimester really is as blissful as people say it is, even when carrying multiples! When I first found out I was having twins, I had so much anxiety about what to expect because when it comes to information about twin pregnancies, there isn’t much out there except all of the worst case scenarios. I tried doing my research so that I could make sure to be as healthy as possible for my babies, but I will be the first to tell you that googling twin pregnancies will leave any new mom feeling major anxiety. Thankfully my experience has been exactly normal! I am sure that is probably the case for the majority of twin moms out there, but no thanks to google my expectations were anything but. It’s my hope that if any expecting twin moms are reading this, they can feel reassurance that their pregnancy can and will be an incredible and normal experience.
A little update on the babes – The twinsies are growing perfectly and look so healthy! Baby boy is already 2 lbs and baby girl is 1 lb 9 oz. The two of them move around like crazy! Kalab and I love watching my belly move with every swirl and kick. It’s crazy how connected I already feel to each of them. I just can’t wait to finally be able to hold and kiss my little cutie beans.
As for myself, I honestly feel amazing! Thankfully my intense nausea subsided after 15 weeks and I have yet to really feel any pregnancy aches and pains. I have been soaking in the good feelings and getting back to all my normal routines this trimester. Being active before and during my pregnancy has really helped me feel good with each coming week. Since I am carrying twins, I do modify my workouts and never let my heart rate get high. But the best advice I was given concerning working out while pregnant is to just listen to your body. Another plus is that although I am measuring about 30 weeks, I haven’t gotten any stretch marks. I do make sure to drink A LOT of water and keep my body super moisturized. I am religious about that, so hopefully I can keep the stretch marks away!
